Using an FTP username and password in a browser URL

In some cases it might be needed by a user or an administrator to use a browser to access an FTP server (actually in most cases), the thing is browsers have an automatic anonymous user setting, meaning the browser will default to user anonymous with an e-mail format password (such as user@example.com), this actually saves users who are unfamiliar with browser technologies or FTP sessions the time to enter the username and password for every FTP access they make, the problem arises when anonymous access is disabled or when a specific content for download is not located on the anonymous allowed directory, well there is a solution and as ususal RCT to the rescue
simply open your browser and type the following in the URL (address) line: ftp://:@ftp.example.com where: should be replaced with the username (such as john or admin) should be replaced with the appropriate password. ftp.example.com should be replaced with the ftp server URL.
For more information post comments and I'll be happy to help....
